This weekend's ShredMenu

This weekend marks the first non-late night set STS9 has played in the bay area since last summer. They are playing Thursday through Sunday of this weekend. It should be balls out. Friday and Saturday are sold out. There are still some tickets available I hear for the Thursday and Sunday shows. My boy DJ Morale is opening on Friday show love SF!
The official late night after party is at 103 Harriet (1015 Folsom) after every show.

STS9 played a PA set at a Veni Vidi Vici event at Club 6 in December. The show started at 2:15 AM boy and the scene was messy. I think I counted 3 people in full costume crumbled on the basement couches. The art was sick and the music rocked. I good time had by all for sure.

Also this weekend is the 2009 Burning Man Burnal Equinox Party. This event sounds like a whole lot of fun. This party is going down at Mission Rock Cafe's Flambe Lounge. It should go until at least 3 am.

This is a label a friend made me for one of the beers that I make. You like it? I think it rules. Any ideas?

Bill Brand Brown Ale

Last Friday the craft beer world lost a huge contributor to its cause. William Brand a long time and recently retired staff writer for the Oakland Tribune's beer section, passed away from complications sustained from being hit by the N-Judah last Tuesday. This was taken from his Blogspot. You can see his stuff here:

SAN FRANCISCO — William Brand, a longtime reporter for the Oakland Tribune, died early Friday as a result of injuries suffered in a Muni train incident in San Francisco Feb. 8. He was 70.
Brand died at San Francisco General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, according to a friend of the family.
A recently retired reporter, Brand was walking near Second and King streets around 9:10 p.m. Feb. 8 when he was hit by oncoming N-Judah train, SF police said.
Brand was knocked into a nearby pole by the impact, police Inspector Dean Taylor said.
The investigation is continuing, but it appears to have been an accident, Taylor said.
Brand retired from regular news gathering at the Tribune in November after 27 years at the paper. He continued to write a well-read beer blog titled “What’s On Tap.”
The night he was struck by the train, Brand was returning from the 21st Amendment Brewery on Second Street where he had attended a food and beer pairing event he was writing about for his blog.
A memorial service is planned and details will be announced later today, a friend said.
